Treasure Island Time Machine: Swing Dance Gala Celebration!

Join us on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay and step back in time into the historic 1938 Building One for a memorable night of music, drinks, and dancing. This year’s celebration marks the Treasure Island Museum's Golden 50th Anniversary and the 86th anniversary of the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition Live music will be provided by the Bay Area's premiere vintage 1930s-1940s style jazz dance band, the Nick Rossi Swing Six, resident performers at the spectacular Top of the Mark and known to dance fans throughout the world. A complimentary beginner's swing dance lesson will be provided by Nathan Dias (Cat's Corner, SF) and Kristin Wojkowski (former Ms. Art Deco) to get the evening going and the dance-floor warmed up. Enjoy a special one-night-only "Treasures from the Collection" exhibit mounted by the museum, featuring many rarely-seen artifacts from their archives. Cocktails will be available from the stylish Gold Bar Distillery with great views of the band and dancers. Food will also be available for purchase. Vintage 1930s-1940s attire or formal evening wear very much encouraged for this annual gala celebration, but not required. Come dance with us, drink with us, or just enjoy the unique atmosphere of this very special location and event! Your attendance will help us expand our service to the community, create new exhibitions and education programs, preserve the museum's collection, and offer free admission to our gallery and public programs Doors and bar open at 6:00 pm, with free swing dance lessons at 7:00 pm.
