HISTORIA DE LA SALSA TUESDAY SPECIAL: Join us Tuesday July 14th 2015 at Alhambra Palace for a Tribute to Fania Allstars featuring Tribute to the Legends": Mannix Martinez Yvonne Martinez Jeffrey Martinez BIO: Manuel “Mannix” Martinez, Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico: Singer, musical director and one of Puerto Rico’s Legendary Voices (Sonero). Former singer of one of the world’s greatest Salsa orchestra with more than 55 years of existence, La Sonora Ponceña of Ponce, Puerto Rico. Mannix Martinez was also lead vocalist of the orchestra La Terrifica of Ponce, Puerto Rico. Well known for hit singles and classics recorded with these bands like “Cancion”, “Pura” “Como Amigos, como amantes” & “Casa Pobre, casa grande” In 2007 Mannix Martinez was invited to perform at the Puerto Rican parade of Chicago, IL. Accompanied by his wife Yvonne Curet, they decided to stay for a few more days at her request……….And the rest is history. By January 2008, Yvonne was putting together a band in Chicago with Robert Serrano (Bass player, backing vocalist & music arranger) and rehearsing to what would be known as……. Randolph) Classes are from 7:30pm-8:30pm. Everyone one taking her class will receive a free "Voucher" for First Free Class at Latin Rhythms Studios.
