Trio dancing is a dynamic, social form where three (or more) people are physically connected and moving together. While it might start as something you try for fun, it opens the door to deepen technical skills, new ways of connecting with your own movement, and can blur the line between roles. In this two-class series, we’ll draw inspiration from across the jazz dance continuum to explore the richness and creative potential of trio dancing—building tools you can bring back to both your social dancing and your experimentation. We hope that you can join us after class for snacks, clips, and Hopcats practice session! - Class 1: Creative Basics: OG lindy hop patterns in trio, as well as exiting and entering existing partnerships. There will special attention to technicality and nonverbal cues - Class 2: Orientations & Switchifications: Trio dancing allows for lots of unique orientations and moments that blur lead/follow roles. We will dive into orientation options and ways to express your voice! ---- Dates: June 7, 14 Time: 1-3 pm (before Hopcats!) Location: 5 St. Lukes Rd, Allston MA (Allston Abbey) Teachers: Julie Brown, Raquel Fioroti, Genny Kunkel ---- PRICING: All tickets are on a sliding scale (30-60$) MASKING: Masks optional, masks will be available at event. HYGIENE POLICY: I will refrain from wearing scented products such as: perfume, cologne, or fragrant personal care products. If I arrive wearing scented products, I may be asked to remove them with an alcohol wipe or via other means. We will provide a hygiene kit to those who need one!
