About this Event

This week we are celebrating International Dance Day with a full 2.5 hour non-stop West Coast Swing Party with all the best WCS hits from our DJ @JamesBartlett. As we are at the end of 4 months of courses we want to celebrate all your achievements and bring the UK communities together to enjoy an evening of pure West Coast Swing social dancing 😁😁 Hosts: West Coast Swing Birmingham Where: CDOB Brazilian Cultural Centre in the Jewellery Quarter When: Tuesday 29th April from 8.30-11pm. The first hour will be dedicated to easier WCS tracks to give our beginners a chance to relax and enjoy nailing those basics on the free dance floor. After that James will be serving us a variety of pop, rnb, blues and acoustic hits with slightly more complex melodies to give you some interesting musical accents and rhythms to play around with 😁 ✴️ Bring your own drinks ✴️It's a triple celebration. International dance day plus Callie and Lisa's birthday 🎂🎂🎂 ✴️There will be nibbles and homemade cakes to celebrate but we ask you to bring something homemade to share too if you wish 😁 ✴️ Photos will be taken during the event so please let us know if you don't want your picture to be taken ✴️ Book on www.westcoastswingbirmingham.com, select drop in and the £11 option. If you could purchase in advance that would be useful to get you in quicker at the door, however you can pay via card or cash on the door. All levels welcome, though knowing the WCS basics will put you at greater ease on the social dance floor. If you are a complete beginner, our level 1 course starts the following week so we hope to see you there ☑️💙 Why WCS so appealing to get into: Firstly it can be danced to many different musical genres such as RnB, hip hop, contemporary beats, blues and jazz, to many songs you may recognize but at a slow enough pace that you can relax and enjoy it. Secondly, it's the most fun dance on the planet, socially and physically! It sure beats the gym. Lastly, in contrast to many other dances, it allows for two people to improvise whilst still dancing together. TRAVEL 5 minutes walk from the Jewellery Quarter train & tram station and 10 minutes to Snow Hill Station. Plenty of on street parking available, free after 6pm. CDOB is in the Birmingham clean air zone so check your vehicle meets the climate zone requirements before driving at: https://vehiclecheck.drive-clean-air-zone.service.gov.uk/... If your car does not meet the requirements, free on street parking is available around a 10 minute walk away, just on the other side of the ring road (A4540) either at the main Tesco superstore or streets adjacent (max. stay at Tesco with store purchase is 3 hours). We look forward to meeting and dancing with you Get in touch if you have any questions or want to chat to us. #wcs #wcsbirmingham #modernswing #urbanmusic #billieeilish #socialdancing #westcoastswing #birminghamdancers
