It's time for a Tupi Collective Party! Come feel as you were on the Tropics dancing at the sounds of the grooviest Brazilian rhythms selected by the specialists Dj Mks and Dj Skambo! For the November edition, we invite the fresh and talented Lennox Hortale (Mumbaata - Brazil) to join on the mission of making you shake all night long! Lennox is a Brazillian and newcomer in Montreal who started playing as a DJ quite young in 1994. He began his career as a music producer in 2000 and since then he has been producing songs, soundtracks, radio vignettes and remixes in a solo project or in the Glocal and Mumbaata projects. He has already performed in some of the main festivals, events and clubs in Brazil, Germany and US, such as Lollapalooza, Rock in Rio, SWU, Planeta Atlântida, Creamfields, Universo Paralello, XXXperience, Deputamadre, Pacha, Privilége, Sisyphos, Warung and Watergate, playing alongside with artists as Anthony Rother, Azari & III, Chromeo, Crystal Method, Giorgio Moroder, Sasha, Underworld, among many others. They’re deejays who have started a music project that explores the different rhythms of Brazilian music. The duo are vinyl collectors that have invested their time in bringing to Montreal their collection of many Brazilian records, that explores all genres of their native grooves. From reggae to samba, to hip-hop to forró, plus an amalgamation of new and old school Brazilian rhythms, the collective mixes a diaspora of styles in their sets which takes their fans on a tropical journey. Their avid listeners and fans are very enthusiastic about their projects and parties, displaying an array of dialects that are a lot more than just bossa nova and samba rhythms.
