Two Moon Tango Advanced Level Encuentro

Save the date for our 2nd annual Milonguero Style Tango Encuentros with Alicia Pons! This year we will be offering our Advanced level Encuentro from March 14-16 and our Advanced Intermediate level Encuentro on the weekend of March 21-23. Our "encuentros" are gatherings of close embrace, Milonguero Style dancers coming together to study, build community and dance the weekend away! These intimate events include great nationally known DJs, a beautiful venue, and upscale milongas with use of the traditional codes of the dance. Alicia Pons will be teaching a relaxed schedule of classes with numbers of students limited to 30 participants/weekend. Milonga passes are available for each weekend. We will not be selling individual tickets. Our capacity for milongas is limited to 55 dancers. Registration will begin November 3rd, 2013 and fills quickly. We will send you a link to register on the 3rd. If you know you want to come, we ask you to register early as these events fill quickly. Most of you know Alicia, but for those who don't, Alicia is a revered social dancer (Milonguera) in Buenos Aires and a highly experienced and innovative teacher of close embrace social tango or Milonguero Style Tango. She combines brilliant technical teaching of close-embrace tango and is truly gifted in sharing the internal dynamics and comfortable, characteristic feel of this style. Alicia excels in teaching connection, communication, and partnership in tango. Figures are presented as vehicles for the internal dynamics we will be exploring. She also is a pioneer in teaching women a more active role, developing a personal voice in their dance. Through metaphor and images, she is the best we know in articulating and transmitting the essential aspects of this dance. Here are the details of the two weekends: Advanced level Milonguero-Style Encuentro, March 14-16 This encuentro is designed for dancers with 7 or more years consistent study of Milonguero Style tango who are at an advanced level. If you have studied for more than 6 years and are not an advanced dancer please register for the Advanced Intermediate weekend. If you are not sure which level encuentro would be the best fit for you, please consult me before making plans and I can let you know what our criteria are. This encuentro will include 3 milongas on Friday and Saturday evenings and a Sunday afternoon/early evening milonga which includes a meal. Alicia will be teaching 2 1.5 hr classes on both Saturday and Sunday. DJs for this weekend are Lampis Zalavras, Paul Akmajian and Julio Nieto from Buenos Aires. $220/full pass. $90/milonga pass (includes meal on Sunday)
