This has become their foundation as teachers and dancers on the international tango scene. As Maria & Sigrid are themselves never-ending students, they both used the imposed stop of the last months to deepen their personal study of the body and movement. Their teaching is thus newly enriched by the study of Body Mind Centering (Sigrid), GYROKINESIS® and GYROTONIC® (Maria). The seminar "Souls and Cells" is aiming at providing tango dancers with a deep and joyful experience of the body in space, from a cellular and bio-mechanical approach to an energetic and poetic perspective. Its purpose is to help people questioning, discover concepts or change perspective on things they might have been doing for years, to give sense and deepness to their dancing and help them grow. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 - "Balance in movement" The movement of the body in space - individually and in connection. Subtlety in listening and creating shapes. APPROACH AND METHOD The teaching of Maria and Sigrid is both playful and dense, as well as always extremely precise. They propose numerous proprioceptive explorations and experimenting around core concepts, to increase dancer's sensitivity and understanding of the structure of tango as well as the internal rules of the body in motion. CHANGE OF ROLES Maria and Sigrid focus on what the 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻, rather than breaking them down separately. They always relate the concepts studied in class back to the idea of 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. They also address more personal and psychological issues on the different dimensions of both roles. That's why they will switch continuously between working individually and with a partner (leading experience not required). In that context, changing roles is naturally a great key to sensing all the dimensions at stake. ☛ 𝗧𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡-𝗧𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡 – 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 A one hour pre-milonga workshop before the Friday milonga @Chicago. The two last notes of the tango are those we must not miss at any cost. But how to be sure not to miss them when every orchestras have their own way to do?
