Una Noche de Pasión: A 4th Friday Social

Zouklahoma & Social Groovz team up to present "Una Noche de Pasión: A 4th Friday Social"!!! Come and join us for our new monthly socials. Our goal is to help strengthen our dance community by bringing people from different dance styles together in an environment that encourages attendees to experience and explore fun and fascinating new dances. Cost: $5 Dress: Casual Music: Only the hottest tunes from the hottest genres brought to you by DJ Papi Chulo! We'll have all of the Zouk/Kizomba, Bachata, and Salsa you can handle! What you can expect: We will be starting the night with a complete beginner's guide to Zouk starting at 9:00pm. This will cover everything you need to know from basic movements all the way to how to implement the concepts of basic musicality for Zouk in order to give already experienced dancers more tools to play with on the dance floor. As for the music that will be played, you can honestly expect it to be pretty similar to a typical Latin social at 3sixty. Because the goal of our social is to expose dancers to different styles of dance, there will be more music geared towards Zouk/Kizomba, but anyone that knows me knows that I love my Urban Bachata, so expect plenty of Prince Royce, Romeo Santos, and other Sensual Bachata remixes of modern pop songs, as well as some Salsa favorites. As for the Zouk/Kizomba portion, we'll play songs that can be danced to either Zouk or Urban Kizomba. The cool thing about Zouk is that it is similar to West Coast Swing in that it is a very versatile dance, meaning that you can dance Zouk to all kinds of music. This is why people can dance only Zouk until 5:00am and never get tired of it, because while it is technically the same dance, it is expressed differently depending on what type of music is being played, which is also why Zouk and WCS go so well together . Ultimately, we will cater the majority of the music to the crowd that is present to help ensure that everyone in attendance will have a great time! Lastly, we want to reach as many people as possible, so if you know of anyone you think would be interested in joining the dance community in Oklahoma, please feel free to invite them as well!
