Understanding Zouk Workshop with Sofie + ZoukVice Party!

Join us for a special workshop with Sofie Toris and a popup ZoukVice Brazilian Zouk Party with Zouk Mia! UNDERSTANDING ZOUK This two-hour workshop is designed to talk about and work on several fundamental principles of Brazilian zouk. If you ever ask yourself any of the following questions, this workshop will be a great opportunity to get them answered: - Can Brazilian zouk be danced to any song? - Are there patterns/variations/directions/and other rules to Brazilian zouk I should know about and respect or am I free to express myself in any way? - How do I connect with my dance partner? - I don’t feel comfortable dancing in a close embrace, are there other types of connection? - Do I have to stay on the zouk beat all the time or can I play with the rhythm? - What makes me a good lead/follow? - How do I dance with someone I don’t have a natural connection with? Do I simply not dance with that person or are there ways to solve this? Besides addressing these questions we will work on the techniques that will help understand the theory behind them and then apply them in practice on the dance floor.
