Uptown Saturday Nights - Salsa in the Park

WE'RE BACK!!!! UPTOWN SATURDAY NIGHTS returns for its fourth season of FREE entertainment this summer! This year's season opener will be held on Saturday, June 2 at Buttercup Park (6-9pm)! To celebrate the arrival of warmer weather, we are thrilled to host Afinca'o and the Dance Academy of Salsa for a special night of Salsa in the Park! Come for the dancing and FREE instructional lessons, or simply sit back and enjoy the music. Staying true to their roots, the Spanish meaning of their name, Afinca’o was created to bring together some of Chicago’s most musically sound and talented musicians. Though diverse in their musical repertoire, Afinca’o is most noted for their Salsa, Cha-Cha, Latin Jazz, and even some Merengue performances. Adding to the group’s appeal, each of the members have played with world-renowned Latin recording artists, including Gilberto Santa Rosa, Luis Enrique, Victor Manuelle, N’Klabe, Frankie Negron, Eddie Santiago, and many more, all of which help cement the group’s reputable experience. UPTOWN SQUARE: Uptown Instagreeter Free Walking Tours For a century, Uptown has been the city’s top entertainment destination, hosting silent film stars, then a hub of 1920s' movie palaces and more recently, legendary music venues. Join us for an hour-long tour led by knowledgeable local docents from Choose Chicago's Neighborhood Greeter program. Tours leave Provisions Uptown at 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm on Saturday, June 2. No need to register. BUENA PARK: Hutchinson Street Architecture Tours Take a free Guided Tour of the renowned architect George Maher’s mansions on Hutchinson Street. The 30-minute sidewalk tours showcase these architecturally significant homes. In many ways this street and its architecture put Buena Park on the map. There is no registration required. To attend, simply meet at the corner of Hutchinson and Hazel. Tours leave at 1:00pm, 1:30pm, 2:00pm, 2:30pm, and 3:00pm (last tour).
