Urban Kiz and Fusion Workshop with Taylor

Taylor is visiting from Amsterdam and will teach an Urban Kiz class and a Fusion class. You are welcome to join the workshop for one or both classes (see times + signup sheet below) Urban Kiz: Cross Steps with Clarity and Control Cross steps are a signature of Urban kiz, and one of the clearest differences from traditional Kizomba. In this workshop we’ll explore the foundations you need for smooth, confident cross step patterns: balance, weight transfer, foot placement, and rhythm. We’ll build skills step by step - first solo, then with a partner - so you can both lead and follow cross steps with more precision and ease. Fusion: Dynamic Connection for Organic Leading and Following In this class we’ll explore an elastic quality in our dance connection which allows movement to emerge naturally from the full-body tone between the two partners. We’ll find how to keep the connection even in moments of dynamic push and pull, and learn how to let the connection itself lead. Taylor has been dancing since 2011, with roots in Argentine tango, blues, fusion and urban kiz. She’s an Alexander Technique teacher trainee and also teaches yoga and Pilates.Her classes blend somatic clarity with practical technique. Taylor’s teaching is grounded, curious, and playful; she’s driven by the belief that every dancer can refine their awareness, expand their options, and grow more fully into their own movement.
