Join us for a dance-filled weekend of learning Urban Kiz & Tarraxo with the incredible Kenny Odumosu, and enjoy dancing at multiple day and night socials to the music of our DJ - Kiz Me Marchi! This exciting event will be held at two different locations over the weekend, bridging the emerging Kizomba community in Summerland with the already flourishing Kizomba dance community in Kelowna. Friday evening and Sunday afternoon will be held Kelowna at Borealis Latin Dance (1040 Richter Street, Kelowna). And then Saturday afternoon and evening will be held in Summerland at the The Service Station (5505 Butler Street, Summerland). Learn lots of new moves and techniques from the highly talented Kenny Odumosu, and dance at multiple day and night socials to the energetic -but also smooth- Urban Kiz and Tarraxo sounds provided by Kelowna's newest Kizomba DJ - Kiz Me Marchi. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, Kenny will guide you through the steps throughout 6 hours of workshops and help you improve your Kizomba dance skills. Kenny, a former Latin, ballroom, and hip hop dancer, discovered Kizomba in 2013 in Waterloo, Ontario, and fell in love with its dance and music. He traveled the world to learn about the history of Kizomba and took workshops from instructors to develop his skills. In 2015, he founded Afro-Kizz Me in Calgary, teaching and organizing events and classes for Kizomba, Semba, and Urban-Kiz. In 2018, Kenny won first place in the Kizomba/Semba category at the North America Olympiads of Kizomba. His passion for dance led him to master Urbankiz, Semba, Kizomba, and Tarraxo, and he shares his knowledge and experience with students in Canada, teaching in multiple cities including Guelph, Calgary, Edmonton, Victoria, Toronto, and Vancouver.
