We will be doing a 3 hr workshop on Pivots and Crosses in Urban Kiz we will be covering the technique from the bottom to the top. This is an open level workshop designed to bring success to all that attend. Meet your instructors Drew is THE local NJ/NYC based dancer and instuctor in the known for his sucess in Jack and Jill compititions for both Kizomba and Urban Kiz. He stated dancing with Hiphop and Dancehall styles at a very young age. He took on the partner styles of Salsa ,Bachata, Tango and Brazilian Zouk in 2012. He took a deep dive into Kizomba and Urban Kiz starting in 2014 influenced by the dances' connection to African and West Indian culture. Drew's style of dance is grounded by his Hip hop and Dancehall experience and is fortifed with solid connection and technique learned through extensive training with a multitude of different top rated instrutors. As an instuctor Drew focuses on one goal: "To develop better social dancers and a better social experience." Drew started teaching Kizomba/Urban kiz in 2019. However his teaching/choreography experince reaches back to 2008 both in the classroom and on the dance floor. Drew's instruction focuses on 3 major points. Connection, Technique, and overall experience. Vicki is a teacher from Elevate Your Kiz - a top Dutch urban kiz school started by Dwe and Gaby. Vicki likes to put structure to even the most abstract concepts, making them accessible to students. She likes to make the classes fun and entertaining. She believes that everyone can enjoy and learn dancing with proper guidance. Her motto is consistency and dedication. Vicki’s style is: - Technical - Structured - Empowering - Sensual Vicki draws from many styles in her dancing. In the past she used to dance jazz and street dance choreographies. She started partner dancing in 2015 quickly advancing in salsa, bachata and Brazilian zouk. After coming to The Netherlands she fell in love with urban kiz and she’s been dancing it ever since, making light and technical following her signature. To Vicki technique and control form the base on which she builds her own style. She enjoys creativity that comes with dancing through building moves and working out underlying techniques. She believes that followers have as much to say creatively as leaders on the urban kiz dance floor.
