Some blankets will be provided. Here's a brief overview of Ecstatic Dance: ~ Safe, judgement-free space for people to come together and go on a freeform movement journey through what's called a wave. The music starts out slow, builds to a peak and then drops back down to stillness. ~ Goal is to achieve a state of Ecstasy, where dancers feel connected to others and their emotions and experience a meditative and happy state of mind. ~ There are almost no rules, but some guidelines include no shoes, no talking during the dance, and no drugs or alcohol. ~ Photography is not allowed unless you have consent to do so. ~ You may choose to dance alone or dance with others. I say begin by yourself, set an intention for you and the world. To dance with another, you will need their consent first. ~ Avoid heavy scents. Meet your Facilitators: Ania Hata is an Ecstatic Dance Facilitator and DJ. Music and dance have been a part of her life since the age of five. She is passionate about sharing her love for movement and dance. Her belief is that this type of freeform dance can help process feelings of grief, inspire ideas and make you fall in love with life again. The dances she facilitates have a super playful vibe to them involving scarves, dance skirts plus other dance props. Ania loves to activate the heart by serving cacao during her events. Cacao has the ability to open up the heart, heal and bring you into a state of euphoria during the dance. He has studied Kundalini Ecstatic Dance Facilitation, Foundations of Facilitation, Movement Medicine, Contact Improvisation, and Dance Performance. For his warm up he will invite participants into exploring the sensations of personal and shared energetic space. He will also share the practice of inviting someone to dance with you and rejecting invitations. DJZ (David Jason Ziemba) shares music that equalizes & uplifts. He started remixing mix tapes on cassettes over 30 years ago, while growing up with House Music, before entering the 'Rave' scene in 1998. DJZ brings dance floors through an inspiring journey with soulful messages & unique styles. He founded BrilliantlyMad & Make Believe Professionals, which unites the extended communities in joy. Allow this moment to breathe, relax and enjoy the moment of peace. Our sonic pallet is soothing, calming, and relaxing. It allows the participants the ability to slow down their nervous system, stretch out any of your areas that may be tense, and allow the sound to be received like water, washing your cares away. This journey gives you a freeing and regenerative outlook to tackle the next challenge that life presents so you can be more aware.
