We will meet at the intersection of biomechanics, somatic awareness, and experimentation. We are bringing movement tools and frameworks that help participants expand their capacity to move with skill and freedom. Building trust and connection with others will be a through-line as we dive deep and fly high. Info & Contact: [email protected] About Scott Wells In 1981 Scott discovered the pleasure of contact improvisation shortly after becoming obsessed with the struggles of modern dance. After receiving his MFA in Dance from the University of Illinois, Scott moved to San Francisco and started a dance company with everyone’s favorite dancer, Kathleen Hermesdorf. In 2005 Scott Wells received San Francisco’s most prestigious choreography award: The Isadora Duncan Award for Outstanding Choreography and was selected by Dance Magazine as one of the 25 To Watch. He now teaches dance technique and is recognized worldwide as a leading teacher of Contact Improvisation. www.scottwellsdance.com About Sebastian Grubb Sebastian Grubb is an award-winning dance artist and movement coach based in Northern Europe and California. He grew up as a 'theater kid' in Santa Cruz, then majored in philosophy while falling in love with modern dance. Sebastian has been a Contact Improvisation practitioner since 2006 and dance teacher since 2007. He also choreographed, performed and toured contemporary dance works throughout the U.S. and overseas from 2007-2019*.
