Come join us for a special Valentines Zouk Party and Workshop with dress themes! We will also have yummy snacks and feel free to bring snacks to share ! Dress theme: Velvet Rouge Red or Licorice Black Ocho and Shannon will be teaching concepts of Zouk Embrace and how to improve your basic in close embrace. What makes the zouk hug so inviting and how to make the dance flowy and squishy! This is will be open level and great for beginners as well. DJ OchoZ will be DJing a one of a kind Zouk Mix specially for Valentines day with great Zouk & Fusion dance music and epic lyrical valentines songs. Ocho, is a Brazilian Zouk instructor and DJ with a decade of experience in Latin partner dances. He transitioned into Zouk in 2016 inspired by renowned artists like William Teixeira and Xandi Liberato. He completed his teachers training program in the Netherlands in 2018 with Renata Peçanha and Jaime Aroxa. Ocho's dynamic style features soft close embrace, advanced musicality, and high-energy circular turn patterns. And you guys probably know me 😁 but if you dont a bit about Shannon: I have a background in many different styles of dance including latin (salsa/bachata) and ballroom and then fell in love with Zouk in 2017, so now I focus on teaching and spreading zouk through my organization RDU ZOUK! It is for Ronald McDonald House staff and guests. The small DFM Lot to the right in front of the little meetinghouse close to Alexander Ave is small but also fair game. The Duke Security Lot that is directly across the street from DFM is also fair game unless a specific parking spot says otherwise. DO NOT PARK in the lot downhill from the Duke Security Lot, beside the Episcopal Student Center. Also DO NOT PARK in the lot near the Campus Security Office which fronts on Oregon St. It is at the far end of the lot beside the Episcopal Center. There is also some street parking available.
