Dear friends, We invite you to a tango weekend in Helsinki, from September 19 to 21! The program includes: workshops with Viacheslav Ivanov (Slava) and a Saturday milonga with DJ Jani. This time, all workshops will be connected by one main topic: Musicality. Of course, besides musicality, we will also talk about technique, connection, and dynamics. A more detailed description of the lessons is below. Program: FRIDAY 19.9 - Classes requiring no partner - Class 1 - 18.00-19.20 - Techniques. Accuracy of the movement. Connection with the Music. Exercises which help us to be prepared for group classes. - Class 2 - 19.40-21.00 - Class-Lecture (with a practical part) Phrasing as the one of the most important skills in Musicality. 'Squares' in Music. Rhythmical options. SATURDAY 20.9 - Classes for couples - Class 3 - 17.00-18.20 - "One and Two"*- challenge. Part 1 -Class 4 - 18.40-20.00 - "One and Two"- challenge. Part 2 The final goal of the “challenge” is to be able to improvise while keeping the pattern “one-and-two” – a skill that is hard to overestimate. We will "recall" some famous patterns and learn several new ones (some more obvious, some more interesting :)). And the goal of this class - to improvise with the music, using these patterns. So, i would also say that the class is about Musicality and Creativity (or Improvisation). * Some teachers prefer to count "1-2-3"; for me it's just a matter of habit. MILONGA Saturday 20.9 - 20.00 - 01.00 - DJ: Jani Cost: 15 € SUNDAY 21.9 - Classes for couples - Class 5 - 14.30-15.50 - Legato and Staccato. Smoothness and precision. A lesson about dynamics and the character of movement (and a bit about habits). - Class 6 - 16.10-17.30 - "What we can mark here?.." (or "How i would dance this song?") Dancing “Farol” by O.
