They're only in the area for a short time, so we figured we had to get a class and social with them on the calendar! We know there's a lot going on that weekend, but if you are in town, we hope you can come join them! They'll be teaching a pre-social lesson at 9 PM, and Michael will be DJing a set during the social! Schedule of Events: 8:30 PM: Free introductory Brazilian Zouk lesson with Jason 9:00 PM: "Add Some Swag" Brazilian Zouk Workshop with Casi & Michael 10 PM - 2 AM: Brazilian Zouk social with DJ Garcelona (Michael) & DJ F&M (Jason) Cost: $10 for 9 PM workshop, $10 for the social. No cost for introductory lesson. PayPal, Cash, Venmo accepted. No cards. About our visiting instructors! Casi has years of experience in all forms of dance and started her love affair with zouk in 2015. Michael started partner dancing in 2009 in LA starting initially with Salsa. In 2015 he began training with District Zouk. Casi and Michael started teaching with district Zouk in DC in 2017. After a brief and fulfilling period in DC, Casi and Michael moved from DC to LA and soon started teaching with Shani Mayer’s dance company- SMDC. Under SMDC, Casi has performed in multiple performances around LA while supporting a growing local community. Their energy and attention to detail help facilitate meaningful learning environments leaving students with new movement concepts and self confidence.
