Voice&Movement Improvisation class before the ecstatic dance!!! In the ecstatic dance floor we have so many ways of expressing. In this class we will offer a very special one - the connection between voice and movement. It will be a one hour introduction class that could give you some tools to play with in the ecstatic dance! As babies, we all communicated this way intuitively, but while “growing up” we lost the connection to our impulses and emotions that appear every second of our life; we filter them with the consciousness of the civilised being... Sadly, most of the time we inhibit and hurt ourselves by holding everything inside of us. It is remarkable to see how only with babies we allow ourselves to make funny faces and voices. In singing or dancing, we can express a lot of impulses. That’s great, but, when doing that in any kind of form-discipline, it automatically puts borders and limits the freedom of pure expression. In Voice&Movement Improvisation, we focus on the moment: we connect to the voice and movement and their organic dynamics, to emotions and impulses that occur at the instant! Voice means every sound that is possible to make with our vocal cords: singing, humming, crying, screaming, laughter, animal sounds and much more… Movement means any movement whatsoever ...spinning around, jumping, making faces, drumming.... During the workshop, the participants will experiment with a great variety of activities from different fields such as Feldenkrais, Yoga, Contact Improvisation, Modern Dance, Tango Argentino, Classical & Jazz voice training, Meditation, Martial Arts, Theater, Gospel and much more.. all focused on opening and freeing our expression in the moment, using our voice and movement as a holistic and organic way of communication.
