WAVES AND SPIRALS
Contact improvisation Workshop
10h 11th June 2023
Limitate number of partecipanta, to 25!
The workshop invites you to dive into some of the understanding of the language of Contact Improvisation, to deepen our awareness, stretch and transform the possibilities of the body. We will work to tune our physical embody attention, connect to gravity and center, and align the body in lifting dynamic movements.
What happens if we let go of our base, and follow the sensing body as waves in order to find the encounter with the other, entering into off-balance situations that create a loss of control, and generate your own style of dance. Sensing waves are a practice generated from listening to the internal waves of the sensing body and merging with one of your partners. How can we support the listening of these subtle spaces, at the same time using physicality and momentum to dance with the partner?
By practicing the dialogue of shared waves and axes through space, we will build a network of sensing attention that will allow entering in a state of high awareness, an awakened center, and intuitive fascia, observing the dance that emerges in constant dialogue. We will reach lifting, dynamic falling, and the free speed of your sensing body.
This workshop is open for all, beginners who wish to enter into this practice as well as experienced dancers and contact dancers, who wish to further develop and fine-tune their skills and improvisation partnering work.
