Join our next West Coast Swing Social and Workshop at Baila Bel Air in March. 🗓 Sunday, 8 March 12:00–14:00 — Workshop Level 2+ (at least 4 months experience) 14:00–18:00 — Social dancing Join us for a special workshop dedicated to musicality! In this workshop, we’ll explore how to bring more musicality into your dancing through controlled accelerations and decelerations. Working with simple, familiar patterns, we’ll experiment with small variations and subtle speed changes to help you catch musical accents and highlight key moments in the music. You’ll learn how to slightly accelerate certain parts of a pattern, stretch others, and create dynamic contrast — all while staying connected and balanced with your partner. Although the focus is musicality, we’ll dive deeply into the technical aspects that make these changes possible: timing control, elasticity, grounding, weight transfer, and connection. The goal is to give you practical tools that allow you to play with tempo safely and clearly, without losing structure or partnership.
