WCS Workshops with Sonya White

Enjoy a fabulous weekend of WCS workshops with Sonya White! Sonya is a top level WCS Dancer and regularly places in the Showcase Division. A bit more about Sonya: Sonya dived into dancing at 17 upon joining Cegep Saint-Laurent for a DEC in contemporary dance. She then joined the McMaster Dance Company in Hamilton for hip-hop for a year and when she came back to Montreal, she discovered salsa. From then on, it was a love story with dancing, teaching, performing and training. To better herself she expanded her styles of dancing she than learned ballroom, tango, jazz, ballet and more. After teaching and performing in salsa and latin street dance for seven years, she is now a full-time west coast swing dancer, as it is the dance that allows a great mix of various styles into one. ---- Workshop Details: 9 July, Saturday* 9.30-10.30pm: Musicality: How emotions create motion, phrasing, picking pieces of the music to showcase. 10 July, Sunday** 3pm-4pm: Unlocking Your Body: Learn to keep your movement flowing through your body all the time. 4pm-5pm: Isolating your Movement or Bringing your Partner with you.
