BOTH Tara~Ma and DJ Mystical Michael of We Need To Dance Barefoot Boogie will be your DJs for the evening! Our opening circle will begin at 8:00. **Please Note** the date of this dance was originally for Sunday day Oct 6th but has changed to Saturday night Oct. 5th. Our next day dance will be Sunday October 20th. Altar, chill space and delicious beats by Tara~Ma and DJ Mystical Michael. Production and Door by Spike Finnerty. Doors open at 7:45. Opening circle begins at 8:00 PM. Please be on time. ♥ DJ Mystical Michael has been a DJ for over thirty years. He inspires creative, meditative, and joyful movement with a genre-bending mix of rhythmic and spacious music from around the globe. Michael was co-facilitator of NYC's freestyle dance The Barefoot Boogie, and DJs at Dance Friday Boston and Dance New England's annual summer camp. He has also been a Reiki Teaching Master and Counselor for more than 20 years, and is currently Volunteer Coordinator with Dance New England. . www.michaelswerdloff.com Sooo...what is Ecstatic Dance? Let's review! Imagine the freedom and joy you feel when dancing in your living room (or shower or car) to music that fills your soul. The difference is the addition of the energy of other people with you, doing the same. Find release, renewal, joy and healing in this beautiful practice. The best part is that everyone can do it! There are no rules except to be silent on the dance floor, refrain from wearing shoes, respect yourself and one another and most importantly, to dance however you wish. Align body, spirit and mind with the healing power of dance. We begin with a guided meditation and opening circle to provide connection with other dancers and an invitation to set an intention for the evening. PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME. Music comprised of an electronic tapestry of global rhythms and styles, choreographed by the facilitator and DJ, Thea Izzi (aka Tara~Ma) takes the dancers on a musical journey from ethereal bliss to hip shaking fun and on to high energy grooving out and back down again to end in a place of stillness. Closing circle completes the container and newly created joy is ready to be embraced and sent out in to the world! We are a substance free, judgement free environment. No dance experience is required. Open to adults of all ages and levels of ability. Children are permitted with strict supervision at day/morning dances.
