The Avalon, Omni Ballroom, and Colorado Dancesport North have invited Jacob Reding to host workshops in Country Swing, Two Step and West Coast Swing at the end of March. He began competing at bar competitions in 2012 and, after taking a break from competing in 2013, returned to bar competitions in August of 2017 with a vision to reclaim his spot as a top competitor. He partnered with, Shelby Patterson, and together they had 6 straight competitions in which they took 1st Place in at least 1 category (Freestyle or Traditional). Jacob started training West Coast Swing in early 2018 under the tutelage of Shay Patel while diving head first into JT SWING TEAMS choreography for Seasons 5, 6, VIRTUAL, & 7 in which he learned and performed both the JV and VARSITY routines. He was honored to help lead his peers as “Captain” for Season 7. In Summer of 2019, Jacob and Sydnie Dillard, paired up as competition partners as the face of Reding Dance. Together they have won 12 Champion Belt Buckles, 1 National Championship Title from ESSS 2021, they are the 2022 Country Thunder Champions, and are the reigning UCWDC World’s Country Showdown Freestyle Champions for 2022. He teaches in the Dallas/Ft Worth region of Texas where he currently trains under the guidance of Deon Harrell, WCS All-Star. Jacob now travels all across the country to teach workshop weekends and hold Spotlight Critiques for Country Swing, Lifts & Aerials, and West Coast Swing.
