Weekend Workshops with Semil

Hello everyone! We are excited to announce our first guest instructor to the Charlottesville area: Semil Sineus! Semil is an Orlando-based instructor and one of the key individuals responsible for building the local Kizomba-Semba community. An national and international traveler, Semil has participated in a number of personal, master series, and teacher certification classes in over 5 countries, receiving training from Kizomba greats such as Afro Latin Connection, Lucia Nogueira, Eddy Vents, Mestre Petchu, Kizomba Harmony, Paulo Cruz, Oscar B.A., Miguel and Susana, Puto Chinez, and Cymeone. Using this knowledge, Semil provides weekly classes at his studio, Danzforce Extreme. He also organizes and hosts Kizomba Night in Orlando every 3rd Saturday and Abraço, a yearly Kizomba-Semba weekender. In addition to being a dancer, Semil is also a DJ! This part of his journey began at his own socials, but with time and instruction with individuals such DJ To Costa, DJ Sabura, and DJ Oscar B.A., he now provides music at a variety of events across Central Florida and beyond. His work has also been heard at festivals such as Atlanta Kizomba Congress and the International Kizomba Festival. We can't wait to get started! Participation in an indoor, close contact, physical activity does come with in increased risk of exposure to illness and risk of injury. Masks are not required, however, participants may choose to wear one if they feel more comfortable. We ask that you stay home if you are feeling ill. OTHER: Lastly, per the studio owner, no shoes are to be worn during sessions! This is to protect the wood flooring. You may dance barefoot or in socks, whichever you prefer. Water bottles will be provided, but as supplies are limited, you're encouraged to bring your own.
