While you won't be an active part of these classes, you can practice on your own or with a partner (also from Level 1) without disturbing the class. This helps you to learn more and catch up with experienced dancers faster without hindering the main participants of the Level 2 classes and technique classes. Arctic Westies Membership benefits: - Membership provides benefits throughout 2026 such as discounts on courses, private lessons, and certain events/weekend intensives - Voting rights within the club Registration: Pre-registration before the 1st day of classes is strongly encouraged. If you sign up as a student, please bring your student ID to the workshops. Important: - COUPLE SIGN-UPS immediately guarantees a spot at the workshop, so although you can sign up alone, we encourage you to sign up with a partner to secure your spot! - People signing up with an OPEN DANCE ROLE will also immediately be guaranteed a spot. You will however be assigned whatever dance role is required to improve the lead/follow balance for the entire 7 week course. - Waiting list participants receive an email notification regarding spot availability one day before start of classes. Notes to participants: - Dance roles are gender neutral - If you already have dance shoes - great! If not, don’t worry, just bring your most slippery shoes or even just a pair of thick socks to dance in! - Social media: We might have some photos and/or videos taken for promotional purposes, please let us know if you don't want your photos/videos published. Level Description Level 1: For anyone wanting to learn the dance or improve on their technique. No previous dance experience is required. On this level, you will learn all the fundamentals of the dance. Level 2: For all dancers who have gone through a level 1 course. At this level, you will learn variations of the basics and fun new patterns. Technique: For all dancers who feel comfortable with basic patterns. At these courses we will look at increasing your quality of movement, communication with your partner, improve your toolbox with styling and musicality, improve your confidence at the dancefloor and create motivation to practice. Those of you who would like to improve faster may also want to consider taking private lessons from our instructors to get personal feedback and attention. A welcome email will be sent out before the start of classes with additional important information such as final schedules and dance etiquette so keep your eyes on your inbox!
