Let's continue 2020 with this February Swing Intensive! -Thought about learning something new? -Want to add some dance or just more dance to your life? No better time than now! -Wanted to learn a dance style that is fun that you could do to current, modern music of many genres and create amazing musical conversations with a partner on the dancefloor? The time is NOW and look no further, this is the dance - West Coast Swing! Alot of my dance friends as working artists have ever changing schedules, so I wanted to offer a way to learn the dance in an accelerated format that would not necessarily require a week to week commitment to learn. West Coast Swing (WCS) is an awesome partner dance that once you try it, you'll understand why it's growing so quickly all over the world. If you like the idea of improvisation, freedom of expression, 2 way conversation through movement, and a wide range of music (R&B, Pop, Top 40, Hip Hop, Blues, Soul, Funk, Lyrical, Acoustic, and the list goes on) you can dance it to, then this is the dance to learn! This Intro Intensive is geared towards dancers, so if you are open to learn a new dance and already do-Hip Hop, Salsa, Ballet, Modern, Musical Theater, Contemporary, or any other style, come join us! You will learn the basic rhythms, and patterns that are the foundation of this dance along with the fundamentals of connection, partnering, and the character of this dance. As you're all dancers and already understand movement, the class will move at a nice pace to ensure I can give you lots of content to get a good grasp of this dance and have some time to practice and social dance during the session. ***Please spread the word to your other dance friends as it's going to be a fun day and I'm SO excited to have more people experience this awesome dance!
