Winter Solstice 12 21 - Ecstatic Dance & Cacao Ceremony

Tis' the Season of Light ~ We complete our 2019 Fall season with an energizing and grounding sacred cacao ceremony to call in the Winter Solstice. We will raise our spirits with gratitude, merriment, laughter and light then dance and revel to our hearts delight! Led by our beloved friends Alexa Ellis (Iya Soro) with SOund Bath by Nicole Benisch. Nicole Benisch is the founder of Light Spirit Essentials, a holistic health education practice. She is a certified herbalist specializing in aromatherapy, and a certified yoga instructor, and reiki practitioner. Her understanding of sound as a therapeutic tool began with the very first OM in her first yoga class almost 20 years ago, and has blossomed into a deep passion for sharing the healing vibrations of sound. https://lightspiritessentials.com WHERE- Essence Yoga 2178 Broad Street Cranston/Pawtuxet WHEN - 8 PM -10:30 PM- ish (doors open 7:45) WHAT TO BRING - Comfy clothing and water, respect for self and others. Because of cacao’s ability to increase your connection to your inner self and your heart chakra, it aids in any transformational shift you are working towards, whether you are looking to deepen your understanding of who you are, release old patterns and traumas, or move into a more self-confident space. Whatever your path, the intention is yours to set, and the cacao allows you to the insight and awareness to move towards that goal." Imagine the freedom and joy you feel when dancing in your living room (or shower or car) to music that fills your soul. The difference is the addition of the energy of other people with you, doing the same. Find release, renewal, joy and healing in this beautiful practice. The best part is that everyone can do it! The guidelines are to be silent on the dance floor, refrain from wearing shoes, respect yourself and one another and most importantly, to dance however you wish. Align body, spirit and mind with the healing power of dance. We begin with a guided meditation and/or opening circle to provide connection with other dancers and an invitation to set an intention for the evening. PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME. Music comprised of an electronic tapestry of global rhythms and styles, choreographed by the facilitator and DJ, Thea Izzi (aka Tara~Ma) takes the dancers on a musical journey from ethereal bliss to hip shaking fun and on to high energy grooving out and back down again to end in a place of stillness. Closing circle completes the container and newly created joy is ready to be embraced and sent out in to the world! We are a substance free, judgement free environment and advocate for and maintain firm guidelines of consent and respect in our dance space. No dance experience is required.
