This is a potent time for reflection, setting new intentions, rest & rejuvenation. Join us to nurture our dancing spirits and keep our inner fires burning as we delve into the longest night of the year. This evening will tap into the communal well of hope, resilience, new beginnings and the promise of brighter days ahead with a nourishing and warming cacao circle, which will include reflection and intention setting, followed by a delicious Ecstatic Dance & medicinal movement experience that channels the specific energies and themes of the Winter Solstice. We will eventually land into a sound healing journey led by Psy:Lo. You can expect a sub-bass rich sonic soundscape that will carry you into a deeply relaxing and restorative portal, where a theta brainwave entrainment experience awaits you, which may even assist you further with improving your sleep and tapping into your dreams during this powerful time of year. We welcome you to join us for this very special evening on the dawn of the Winter’s Solstice at the beloved Studio Sacred. Bringing a journal is encouraged. Yoga mats, bolsters, and blankets are available, but you are welcome to bring your own if preferred. Dress comfortably for dancing and movement, and dressing up in whatever you feel represents the solstice energy is encouraged! 🔊✨MEET SHEENA MEDICINA ✨🔊 Sheena Medicina, whose real name is Christina Sasser, has been a lover of music & a dancer her entire life. She grew up in a dance studio where she spent hours every day practicing ballet, tap, jazz, & gymnastics growing up. She began exploring conscious movement since first discovering the work of Gabrielle Roth & the 5 Rhythms practice & soon after found Ecstatic Dance around 2010. Always having a deep well of creativity & fortified with a manifesting generator approach to life, she began DJ’ing in 2015 and has been regularly throwing down some of the best dance floor vibrations all over Cascadia, the west coast, & beyond. She now spends her time Dj'ing & touring, teaching & empowering women to step into the music industry, & producing events & retreats. She is the organizer and host of Portland Ecstatic Dance, The Heart of the Jungle Retreat in Costa Rica, The Medicina Campout, & BassWitch. Known for having a vast diversity of musical tastes, from sacred, to sexy, to silly.
