Winter Solstice Ecstatic Dance - 12 21 12

See you soon, and don't forget your costumes!!! ___________________________________________________ Come dance the longest night and break loose all the inhibitions of the age as we cleanse our mind, body and spirit to greet the coming of a new light! Creative dress highly encouraged! (See below) This will be a 2-hour Ecstatic Dance Wave - mixed live by Robert Kochka - held at the beautiful New York Studio 3 (NYS3) in the Woodfin area of Asheville. The dance wave will be followed by a downtempo set by DJ Morphonic. Come dressed as your hero and as your fool, and dance them into harmony and balance. Dress wild and silly, to overcome fears and be all-courageous explorers of radical self-freeing expression. Expect tasty teas, treats and a lush environment that will support being able to completely dive into the depths of the 2012 Winter Solstice. The evening at a glance: 8:30 - Doors & warmup dance mix 9:00 - Community Solstice Invocation 9:15 - 2 Hour Dance Wave begins. 11:15 - Stillness & Closing Dance Circle 11:30 - Refreshments magically appear and DJ Morphonic begins the downtempo free-flow dance party. 1:00 - time to close up shop. Dance Wave General Guidelines: - No talking on the dance floor - No shoes on the dance floor (unless you have a medical need) - You are free to dance by yourself or dance with others - respect peoples boundaries. Evening Guidelines: - Please refrain from photography or videography during the 2-hour dance wave. After the wave, it's encouraged! :) - Absolutely ZERO alcohol or drugs. - This is not a child-friendly event. - If any participant begins to take away from the safety and/or positive experience of the event, they will be asked to leave. - There will be a limited number of trade positions available for those who would like to help make this event wonderful in trade for admission.
