*** English below *** Tijdens het Winterbal keren we terug naar de jaren twintig van de vorige eeuw, bekend als de Roaring Twenties (in de Verenigde Staten) of Les Années Folles (in Frankrijk). Het was een periode van intense sociale, culturele en artistieke activiteit die begon na de Eerste Wereldoorlog en eindigde met de economische problemen van de Grote Depressie. Ook in de balzaal verschenen er heel wat nieuwe dansen: van de charleston, de fox trot en de shimmy over de tango, de samba en de paso doble tot meer onbekende, maar sympathieke dansjes zoals de Waverly of de Lambeth Walk. Tijdens het bal leidt dansmeester Julien Tiberghien je door de passen en figuren. Eric Mathot en zijn Tivoli Band zorgen voor de muziek (piano, viool, contrabas, slagwerk, fluit en klarinet). In de spiegelzaal vind je een buffet en ook de bovenverdiepingen van het kasteel zijn toegankelijk voor nieuwsgierige balgasten. En ook deze keer voorzien we enkele verrassingen! Jurken en kostuums volgen uiteraard de mode uit de periode 1920-1929. Praktische informatie * Datum: zaterdag 15 februari 2025 (ontvangst vanaf 19u30, laatste dans na middernacht) * In de namiddag is er een basisinitiatie van anderhalf uur, waarin de belangrijkste passen en figuren van de dansen van het bal worden uitgelegd * Toegangsprijs voor het bal: 95 euro (inclusief dranken, buffet, foto’s en initiatie in de namiddag) * Het is deze keer niet mogelijk om te overnachten in Het Laathof, het Centrum voor Jeugdtoerisme op het kasteeldomein.
