Kokoro: The Heart and Spirit Presented by Ninja X Kizz Intel Crew Kokoro is the Japanese word for "heart", "mind", and "spirit" undivided. This workshop is created as a sacred space for women in the Kiz(omba) community to honour their kokoro through movement, storytelling, and sisterhood. Why this workshop? This workshop is more than just a dance workshop. It is held as a space to honour Femininity through discussions of challenges and pains in the dance scene, learning fundamental Ginga movements from Kizomba that energize Feminine energy, and build a network of Sisterhood. Too often in the Kiz(omba) scene, women are treated unfairly and expected to behave in a certain manner that devalues our worth. Many of us have felt the sting of being unseen, unheard, or disrespected on and off the dance floor. From imbalanced power dynamics to unsafe environments, it runs deep on a local and global level. This workshop is about reclaiming space that has always been meant to be shared and co-exist harmoniously between Femininity and Masculinity. This is space where WOMEN'S VOICES are CENTERED, where HEALING is PRIORITIZED, and where DANCE becomes a tool for LIBERATION. 🌸 What to expect: Open conversations about femininity, power, and safety in the Kizomba world Guided movement sessions to reconnect with your body and your kokoro Supportive space for dancing whether you've never danced to being a veteran kizomba dancer Collective reflection and celebration of feminine strength ✨ This is not a class. Ninja has been dancing for 20+ years across Asia, the Americas, and Europe. She has taught globally in several styles of dances and has been teaching Kizomba, UrbanKiz, and Yoga for dancers for the past 5 years. She is known for her sensuality, creativity, and holistic approach to dancing and is sought by other world-renowned instructors and advanced dancers for collaborative projects and work. Who is this for? This workshop is for Women. You can be brand new to the Kiz(omba) scene or you may be years into it. You do not need to know how to dance Kizomba to participate in the workshop as we will cover fundamental movements and will dance solo.
