She is also Executive Director of The 418 Project nonprofit Movement Arts Center in Santa Cruz. Join Laura Bishop and DJ Wild Zen (Wendy Marie) as we play in the fields of the body, mind and heart—experience more relaxation, freedom and connection with yourself and others, both on the dance floor and off as we explore the new landscape of connection and consent. ABOUT WENDY MARIE Founder and producer of ecstatic dance Silicon Valley and co-founder of ecstatic dance Santa Cruz monthly. She started studying forms of dance at a young age and took a break from dance until finding ecstatic dance, freeform movement and contact improv over a decade ago - life enhancing and life changing. These forms of dance are where she finds her greatest connections to herself and others, using her ability to heal and transform her life and use dance as a creative medicine where passion and profound realities unfold on and off the dance floor. She teaches to inspire others to move freely, intuitively and intentionally with the gift of living more fully embodied and alive in all parts of life - united and empowered. She is a certified yoga teacher, teaches moving and sitting meditation, DJ's and curates music for conscious dance journeys, facilitates conscious wisdom circles and has been a leader of conscious community development in Silicon Valley since 2009. DETAILS Free parking in the neighborhood. Please arrive on time. Dress to sweat and move in all directions. No perfumes/colognes. No hard accessories, hair clips, belts, buttons, zippers. Dress in layers for warming up and cooling down. Recommended barefoot for the workshop. Flat soft dance shoes welcome, no street shoes. Bring knee pads if you have them. Bring a water bottle. AGENDA • Arrival and a light snack, hot tea and cookies will be included. • Workshop begins with a circle of intention setting and introductions. • Embodiment warm up. • Practice, facilitated games and facilitated partner and group movement and dance.
