Modern Dance Meets Contact Improvisation a Special Workshop with Karin Moriarty, hosted by Wendy Marie Modern dance, contact improvisation and elements from imagery work. A journey of discovery, movement and imagery work. We will touch on the ethics of contact improvisation to reinventing some formal modern dance exercises to create an exquisite evening of movement. We will create together a soft and safe container in which our pains will be repainted and our dreams will be enhanced with magic. The magic of the dance that exist within us all will be elevated! heart and body into the space, around each other and with each other we as the life canvas is revisited and celebrated. Recommended barefoot for the workshop. Flat soft dance shoes welcome, no street shoes. Bring knee pads if you have them. Bring a water bottle. AGENDA • Arrival and a light snack, hot tea and cookies will be included. • Workshop begins with a circle of intention setting and introductions. • Embodiment warm up. • Practice, facilitated games and facilitated partner and group movement and dance. Intermittent circle and community wisdom sharing. • Finish the evening together dancing a freeform movement journey curated music by DJ Wild Zen. • Closing circle and community wisdom sharing.
