About this Event
2 WORKSHOPS with German + Kara
Workshop 1) 18:45- 20:15 The subtleties in changes of embrace: Have your ever felt confused with which distance you should dance?
In this workshop we focus on how to use open and close embrace, on why we would open or close the embrace, and maintaining the flow during the transition between one and the other. The goal is to find a more independent dance without loosing support and togetherness.
Workshop 2). 20:30 - 22:00. Musicality and sequences with Kara and German
Find your musical movement in this workshop were we'll work on rhythm whilst also diving into different combinations. In this workshop we are aiming for you to break apart some of your musical and structural patterns in order to develop a more open interpretation in the dance.

Kara is a subtle and communicative dancer that is inspired and guided by the music, as well as the nuances of the embrace. Whilst improvisation is at the heart of her dance, she also uses choreography to develop the more visual and interpretational aspects of the dance. She aims to achieve a personal tango aesthetic that clearly transmits and evokes her inner sensibility. As a teacher, she has developed a pedagogy that is designed to empower students by giving them tools that focus on a solid technique, a clear idea of the structure of the dance, connection, lead and follow, musicality, improvisation, and the development of a personal style. Her interest and aim in teaching is not the ‘what’ of the movement but rather the ‘how’ and the ‘why’ of it.
