Swing Bandits is thrilled to welcome Kyle Fitzgerald and Melodie Paletta for a fabulous day of workshops on June 20. More info + registration can be found at swingbanditsdance.ca ABOUT KYLE & MELODIE Kyle and Mélodie have been dancing together for two years, combining Kyle’s ballroom refinement with Mélodie’s musical theatre expression to create a dynamic and technically strong partnership. Both are US Open winners, with Kyle earning the 2022 Rising Star title and Mélodie the 2019 Young Adult title. Known for their precise, high-level instruction, they have over 15 years of combined teaching experience and regularly teach workshops across Europe, the US, and Canada. Their classes blend structure, clarity, and playfulness for dancers of all levels. Off the floor, Kyle enjoys history and gaming, while Mélodie is a trained singer and storyteller. These influences shape their creative approach to dance. WORKSHOP SCHEDULE Friday June 19 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm - Connection Under Pressure: How to maintain stretch, clarity, and control during complex patterns. (WSDC Intermediate, see note) Saturday June 20 11:00 am to 1:00 pm - Building Better Basics: Refining footwork, stretch, compression, rotation control, and movement efficiency to create cleaner dancing. (WSDC Novice 6+ Points, see note) 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm - Solo Choreography by Tetiana Hetman. Known for her incredible heels classes, she'll be teaching a beginner-friendly solo choreography that's fun, accessible, and full of style. (All Levels) 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm - Musicality Through Movement: Using body rhythm, timing changes, and texture variations to match the music without overcomplicating your dancing. (All Levels) 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm - Making Simple Feel Good: How top dancers use timing, movement quality, and connection to make basic patterns feel amazing. (All Levels) 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm - Coached Practice. (All Levels) NOTE: The levelled workshops are intended for those that compete at the specified level or for those who don’t compete but have the skills to dance at said competitive level.
