The Wedding Renaissance Kiki Ball is a community Event that aims to bring together the local community under the umbrella of dance - the Event is presented by the House of Saint Laurent & M.I.K. Family with support by hoe_mies & F.K.A Join us for a celebration of the arts, liberation movements and other black LGBTQIA+ spaces that emerged alongside the civil rights movement, which nurtured leading figures in black liberation and empowerment throughout history until this day - to name only a few from the LGBTQIA+ activists: Bayard Rustin, James Baldwin, Barbara Jordan, Alvin Ailey and the founders of the BLM Movement. 🌈This Event is a Fundraiser - entrance + donations will go to LGBTQIA+ related organizations listed below. We want to highlight and support key figures fighting for equal rights across the African continent to support local communities in need. Get inspired by one of the looks of the iconic lady of baladi dance(aka belly dance) Samia Gamal for your first half , and then twist to combining a dance style of your choice ( baladi,dabki,folklore..) inspired by the country you come from and its heritage , don’t forget the elements like (lifts and drops, shimmy, hip moves and figure 8's ) and hishik bishik those moves on some Arabe & turkish beats ❌NOTE this category is open only for people from SWANA : South west Asia and North Africa .❌ 🟧SPECIAL CATEGORIES🟧 We added following categories in order to open up the Ball experience to others dance styles & communities that are related to POC spaces in cooperation with M.I.K. The team must consist of 1 person in Pumps/Heels + 1 Person in sneakers / bear feat 🏆 Tag Team Mixed Style Battle - Team should include any combination of the following dance Stylez: Krump/ Hip Hop, Dancehall/Afro Fusion, Voguing/Waacking ❌DISCLAIMER FOR SPECIAL TAG TEAM CATEGORIES LISTED( not for the ball categories) : the team should consist of at least 1 POC person for this special occasion❌ Battle System for SPECIAL CATEGORIES Preselection – Get your 10´s: Each dancer gets max 45 seconds to present themselves. The judges decide immediatly weither the participant is getting his 10´s or a CHOP. In order to get in the battles the participants need to get only 10´s. No limitation for battle participants!! Battles Ballroom Style: Every battle within there category will be performed ballroomstyle, means participants dancing at the same time. No touching allowed!
