Her passion for movement eventually led her to Brazilian dances before finding her true calling in West Coast Swing. Since 2017, Vanessa has immersed herself in the world of swing dancing, mastering West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Charleston, Shag, and Balboa. Her dedication culminated in becoming a certified teacher's teacher through the Hep Cat Club in Augsburg, Germany's largest swing dance school. Vanessa's expertise takes her around the globe—from the United States to Latin America and Asia—where she studies, teaches, judges, and competes in West Coast Swing events. She regularly conducts workshop weekends both nationally and internationally, while also teaching weekly classes in Munich. As a certified Health & Wellness Coach, Vanessa's approach to dance instruction is rooted in anatomy. This foundation allows her to explain techniques with precision and clarity, helping students understand and differentiate the nuances between styles, techniques and influences in West Coast Swing. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes the connection between physical body & muscle awareness and movement, enabling students to develop a deeper understanding of their bodies in motion. Driven by a passion for growth and innovation, Vanessa has expanded her impact beyond the dance floor. She founded her own company, called Managing Motion, to support artists' growth, demonstrating her commitment to nurturing talent in all aspects of the creative industry. Vanessa continuously develops her skills as a teacher, coach, and artist. She finds joy in sharing her knowledge with students and mentees worldwide, inspiring the next generation of dancers while pushing the boundaries of her own artistry. Thomas From Boogie to West Coast Swing - Thomas has been dancing Swing since his youth. He possesses immense knowledge about dances, technique, and the history of the Swing era. His passion for understanding the similarities and differences between Swing dances led him from Boogie, Lindy Hop, and Balboa to Jazz, Modern, and Ballet, all the way to West Coast Swing. Thomas has been teaching Swing since 2005 and at international festivals since 2009. In his dance school "Hep Cat Club" in Augsburg, he dedicates himself with great passion and devotion to all forms of Swing dance and their history. And you can feel it! Both in his courses and his teacher trainings. Thomas has been teaching swing passionately worldwide for nearly two decades. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - KASIA I MARCIN (Przepraszamy ale jedyny nasz aktualny opis mamy po angielsku... 😉 ) Kasia and Marcin are a teaching couple from Kraków with impressive experience in both dancing and teaching (each of them has been teaching for over 20 years). For a long time their interests revolved around competitive ballroom dancing. As an instructor, Marcin has been working with competitive ballroom dancers for over 15 years, teaching mainly adults at all levels of advancements (from complete beginners to S-class dancers). He is also personal trainer and Buteyko method instructor, and pationate about healthy movement. Kasia, on the other hand, has been focusing on social dances. She’s gained experience in teaching kids, teenagers and adults (some of them physically challenged) at various levels of advancement, as well as running courses for other dance instructors. She’s also the creator of the largest charity dance course in Lesser Poland (one of Polish voivodeships), attended by hundreds of students every year. She is also pationate about andragogy science. As a teaching duo, Marcin and Kasia prove that absolutely everyone is capable of learning how to dance. They are well-known and appreciated for their positive energy and passionate approach to dance instruction. Kasia and Marcin in just two years (from year 2014) have built the largest WCS community in Poland (and this part of Europe). Currently, in their dance studio in Kraków, they run 15 WCS courses on 6 different levels of advancement. A number of their students attend international events and win points in Novice, Intermediate, and Advance division. Happy as they are with their students’ results in jack’n’jills, they do not see the competitive aspect of WCS as the most important things in this dance. Social dancing and having fun is what they appreciate most. The most wonderful and fulfilling experience is for them to see how people who were extremely skeptical on their first lesson and thought that dancing is not for them get excited about WCS and join the community for good. They constantly surprise their students with new, creative exercises and they are capable of translating even the most difficult WCS concepts into a language understandable for everyone. They’ve also mastered the skill of teaching impressively large groups of students, not only making them into aspiring WCS dancers but, most importantly, into a family-like community of friends who share the same passion 🙂 For Kasia and Marcin, West Coast Swing is not only about dancing but, most importantly, about spending time with positive people, having loads of fun and recharging batteries ☺
