About this Event
Scott’s annual
Zero to FLYING workshop
w/ special (optional) Monday event:
An old school contact improv flying jam - think Magnesium (Steve Paxton). We will document with video which will be available to participants.
Zero to flying
Aerial aspects of contact improv: flying, catching, landing, fluid acrobatics, deft maneuvers. The progressions build from somatic practices and contact skills to flying. Everyone will work at their own level and learn best building group safety and trust. I aim to connect the work to somatic knowledge. (For example, Jumping ≠ Flying because jumping is a muscular action, whereas flying is in the bones and is affected greatly by emotions and attitude.)
We’ll do favorite contact exercises and current curiosities. created or learned over decades of investigation and indulgence.
