Zoom Westie Fest!

Been missing your dance fix and hanging out with your friends? Social distancing got you down? Us too!!! Then, grab some drinks, ready the snacks, clear out some space in your living room and join us for some social dancing...at a distance!!! Times are in PDT/California Time/GMT-7 11:45am Checkin and let Ben show you Zoom tips and tricks 12pm Ben Morris - Partnered West Coast Swing Workshop 1pm Glenn Ball - "ZOOM" WCS Solo Styling Line Dance Part 1 2pm Emeline Rochefeuille - "ZOOM" WCS Solo Styling Line Dance Part 2 3pm - 5pm Do some dancing with DJ Victor Loveira, musician Danny Maika, Christopher Dumond mixing a set of his turntables, and your friends from all over the world!! Class will be recorded and available in your WestiePro account for 1 week afterwards. We're going to be using the Zoom Meeting platform which allows you to see us, us to see you AND you to see each other (so remember to put pants on or turn your camera off). You don't need an account, just download the app to your computer, phone, or tablet from https://zoom.us/download. So while we can't all actually touch or be next to each other, this is a chance for us to still hang out, chat, dance, learn, and party together. Ben will be teaching a workshop for those of you that have partners, and Glenn and Emeline will be teach a solo styling line dance they each choreographed half of just for this event! Then we'll have awesome music you can dance to...and you'll be able to see others dancing as well so you can vibe off each other like at a real dance. Also, there are a lot of line dances people in the WCS community like to do so we're going to make sure to mix those songs in. Suggestions for dancing with people from afar for those who don't have a partner or want to mix it up a bit! Use the chat function to coordinate with someone and then pin their video as your main screen (you'll still hear the music). Keep in mind their video and the music may be a split second out of sync. - Face each other and do solo swing movement - Call & Response! Go back and forth every 8 counts (or phrase)...could work for couples or individuals! Or try going back and forth building off and changing a move or styling with each other! - Repeat a set sequence like push, pass, whip "next to" or facing each other (even just sugar pushes facing each other is fun!) - Visually or "Air" lead and follow - fun but challenging! BUT if you're tight on funds right now, or you think we priced it too high, or you want to support every online WCS thing out there right now...we get it and we still want you to join us at whatever price you can afford... OR if financially you're doing great right now and you want to help offset the people who needed to pay less or you think we priced it too low...you are most certainly welcome to pay more.
