§ ZOUK Abraça §

Brazilian Zouk meets Contact Improv edition. (中文在下方) We invited Contact Improvisation dancers to join us for GiGi's monthly Zouk Abraça party. There will be a Zouk lesson from 6-7:30pm. Party starts at 7:30pm. This party is a celebration of Maggie's MA thesis defense which focused on the role of touch and connection in partner dance, specifically in Brazilian Zouk. One section of the thesis explored what social dancers can learn from Contact Improvisation techniques about safe and comfortable touch. We will be joined by honored guests: Maggie's advisor I-Wen Chang, committee members Yatin Lin and Ming-Shen Ku as well as Ku dance company members. Recently Taipei is seeing more cross over parties with various dance style dancers learning from each other. Here is another opportunity to share and explore!
