We noticed that followers often improve very fast because they spend time exploring movement outside of regular partnerwork classes, through styling, solo training, choreographies, and other dance styles. This class gives leaders the same space to grow! Through choreo-based training, you’ll work on body awareness, coordination, expression, confidence, and movement vocabulary that naturally translates into your social dancing. _______ We’ll explore solo movements through a Zouk lens: 👣 Footwork with flavour: glides, slides, moonwalks, heel turns, spins, and of course some urban/street vibes 🧩 Isolations, popping & waves: body flow, control, and clarity 🎯 Dynamics & projection 🎶 Musicality: playing with tempos, interpretation, accents, and build-ups ⚡️ Staccato vs flow: how and when to switch between them ✨ Zouk patterns (solo): breaking them down to add texture, movement quality, and personality ______ When you understand your own body better: → Your dancing becomes more musical, confident, and creative → Your lead gets clearer and calmer → Connection feels more grounded and comfortable → You can adapt more easily and allow your follower more space to play ______ We know that leaders come in all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds, so some movements will feel and look better on some people than others. This class isn’t about creating clones or having everyone move the same way.
