E S S E N C E O F Z O U K ~ fundaments of connective dance Learn the basics of zouk, connective dance & embodiment. During this zouk beginners weekend you will get introduced in to fusing zouk with different dancing techniques in a clear and accessible way. In this way you will learn the basics of zouk and partner dance. ================================= TEACHERS Ray, aka Nymf: Will teach you the bio-mechanics behind each movement. Focusing on the building blocks of the dance, such as weight transfer, centrifugal force, the structures of the body, dancing from the heart frequency and musicality. Ariana: "I have a vision of building consent & authentic connection into the fundamental movements of Zouk. So that no dancer will ever need to compromise their safety, joy or feelings for the sake of connection! Underneath the patterns of zouk are basic movement patterns of opening & closing the heart space, moving hips & torso. My wish would for you to feel safe to feel into the emotional and physical layers during each movement, so that zouk may become a tool for healing in connection." Kees Schenk: Will be the host of this event, connecting the group together at the beginning and end of the day. He will guide us into connective dance, a free dance form that he created as a base for people to dance together from intuition & playfulness. Also, he will do the warm-up. Xena & Mustafa: Are teaming up to bring you basic zouk steps, in an embodied way. Specialising in concepts such as conscious touch, massage into zouk and ecstatic partnerdance. Together, we form a core team of movers longing to connect the zouk scene with our conscious communities.
