On this dance trip to Brazil, you will explore the warmth of Brazilian culture and dance zouk in the country where it was born. Your adventure is based in Rio de Janeiro where the traditional zouk style was first developed around the mid 90’s. During the day, you can head to Ipanema beach or Copacabana beach, sip an acai juice, or sleep in after a night out on the town. In the evenings, you will take Zouk classes and explore Rio’s famous dance and music scene. Through our partnerships with top studios and instructors, we offer the unique opportunity to connect with Brazilian dancers, take dance classes of the highest caliber, and see the city through locals’ eyes. Sip champagne on the plane with your dinner as you travel to the birthplace of zouk. 2 You’ll have a couple of hours to rest, unpack, and get ready for the day once you check into the hotel. After a walking tour of the neighborhood, you’ll enjoy a delicious welcome lunch. In the evening, you will have your first dance class and the option to go out on the town. 3 After orientation on the beach, you’ll clean up and head out for dance classes. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, we’ll head to one of the most famous clubs in Rio for dinner and live music. 4 After a morning on the beach, we take a cooking class with one of the most famous female entrepreneurs in Brazil. Regina Tchelly is changing the way people eat in the country’s favelas, and you’ll fall in love with her big personality and her delicious recipes. In the evening, we have more dance classes and another evening out. 5 A visit to Prainha Beach is followed by a zouk workshop with Ramalhos. Zouk en Casa is our dance venue for the night. At this local house party, you can try out your new moves with your local friends. 6 Take in the view of Rio from atop Urca and Sugarloaf Mountains. After a hike up Urca, you’ll take the cablecar the rest of the way up. Celebrate with a Caipirinha before heading back down. Our final evening includes more dance classes and another great night out. 7 Sleep in and pack up before the Farewell Churrascaria Lunch. You’ll have a few more hours for any last-minute shopping before your transfer to the airport. *This itinerary may be adjusted to improve the quality of your experience.
