Zouk & Kizomba Improvisation Competition (Amateur Category)

For the first time ever, Singapore is holding a ‘Zouk and Kizomba Improvisation Competition’ on 12 NOV held in conjunction with the ‘High On Zouk and Kizomba Weekend’ (HOZKW) from 11-13 NOV 2016. This is an Amateur category competition and only those who have not received any form of monetary remuneration through an official approach or contract in zouk and/or kizomba dance teaching are allowed to join. This is a COMBINED competition and participants would need to sign up as A COUPLE and would have to choose at the point of registration either of the 3 dance categories that they would like to compete in: 1) Zouk 2) Kizomba 3) Zouk & Kizomba Participants from ALL 3 CATEGORIES WILL COMPETE AGAINST ONE other and would dance to only 1 song and would NOT KNOW their song before hand. This is a COMBINED competition for the 3 categories. They would only know that it will be either kizomba/zouk/kizomba & zouk song(s) depending on the category that they choose. The song will be played for 1.5 -2 mins and will be mainstream songs. For those who choose the ‘Zouk & Kizomba’ Category, the 1.5-2.5 mins will consist of 2 songs, 50% zouk and 50% kizomba. All participants will be judge by none other than SHANI & IVO based on the following criteria: 1) Technique 2) Timing and Rhythm 3) Showmanship and Musicality 4) Partnering and Chemistry Prizes to be won: 1) First Place - $100 cash and 2 Full Pass to the Singapore Bachata Weekend 2017 (19-21 May 2017) 2) Second Place - $100 cash and 2 Party Pass to Singapore Bachata Weekend 2017 (19-21 May 2017) 3) Third Place - 2 Party Pass to Singapore Bachata Weekend 2017 (19-21 May 2017) There will be a registration fee of $15 per person ($30 per couple). You will also minimally need to purchase a Saturday Night Pass to HOZKW to join the competition.
