Zouk Ladies Performance Team - We are Recruiting!

Now that we have passed the mid point of 2016 let's look at what we can do for the remaining of the year! Be a part of Moni Dance by joining our Ladies Performance Team - Zouk Styling Choreography! No pre-requisite to join the team (Yes, you do not need to know the Zouk dance as a pre-requisite as that will be covered in the course!) and all dancers and non-dancers alike are welcome to register. This training aims to bring your dancing and styling to the next level, regardless of the dance you do. Lessons and Styling taught are meant to be trasferable to your other dances like salsa, bachata and kizomba and will definitely add flavour to your dance styling! Here we aim to achieve the folliwng: » Improving your fundamentals and flexibility » Getting stronger back and hips to execute ladies Zouk movements » Increase your range and quality of Body Movement » Try a New Style & learn new techniques - Learn the unique zouk styling » Challenge yourself to perform in front of an audience and boost your confidence level (tentatively 12 Nov - details will be out real soon) » Learn a Zouk choreography designed by Moni Dance We are also very excited to announce that the trainer for this team will be led by Karen Lee. Trainings on Mondays beginning 19 Sep 2016. The confirmed 8 training dates are as follows: 19/9, 26/9, 3/10, 10/10, 17/10, 24/10, 31/10, 7/11. We will have 2 additional training sessions (2.5hrs each) in between these dates - most probably in the weekend to clean up the steps further. 8.00pm to 10.30pm (2.5 hours per session). Be a part of our Moni Dance family today! ------------------- About Karen Lee: Karen, originally from Singapore, spent her last 3 years in New York City where she found and fell in love with Brazilian Zouk. She has learned and performed with Raw Zouk by Jeremey Adam Ray, Zouk New York by Kim Rottier, and Zen Zouk by Henri Velandia. She has also travelled to and lived in Brazil to study the dance intensively by practicing all the different styles of Zouk as well as getting to know the culture. Besides Zouk, she also took an interest to the vibrant Brazilian Ballroom dance, Samba de Gafiera. Karen has 14 years of experience in performing and competing, coming from a background of International Latin Ballroom, Cheerleading and Figure Skating. She won the amateur division of the 1st U.S.A Zouk Championships in the 2014 LA Zouk Congress, and 1st place in the 2014 ZoukEX Jack & Jill in Toronto, Canada. She also won 3rd place in the 2016 Rio International Zouk Congress Jack & Jill recently. Karen has taught and performed around Japan and South East Asia, including Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
