If you have never experienced this beautiful and mesmerizing dance, you are in for a treat! Brazilian Zouk is a partner dance known for its smooth and flowing movements, dramatic hair whips, and magical connection. It can be danced to many musical genres including zouk, hip-hop, R&B, new age, pop (to name a few!), making it enjoyable and accessible for everyone! WHAT IS KIZOMBA? Affectionately referred to as the "African Tango," Kizomba is a partner dance with its roots in Angola and has since traveled around the world to be enjoyed by all! The connection is like a happy hug, and the dance is grounding, playful, and musical! WHAT DO ZOUK AND KIZOMBA HAVE IN COMMON? Although different in cultural origin as well as dance steps, fundamentals and aesthetics, the dances of Brazilian Zouk and Kizomba share a deep partner connection and can be danced to common musical genres including "ghetto zouk" as well as Zouk and Kizomba remixes of popular songs. This means that you can dance Zouk and/or Kizomba to many of the same songs at our social!
