Zouk Sundays: Head Movement Class + KIRI CHAPMAN + Practica + Social!

Michigan League 7-8pm Foundation class #6 (head movement) with Sydney Schiff (Kalamazoo) 8-9pm WORKSHOP WITH KIRI CHAPMAN!!! (Vandenberg) 9-10pm Practica (Vandenberg) 10-11pm Zouk social! (Vandenberg) KIRI CHAPMAN started professionally touring and performing at 17. She has received awards from competitions and schools including the American Ballet Theatre, Youth America Grand Prix and the New York International Ballet Competition. Her work with Marc Brewer in kizomba, bachata, salsa, and zouk has captured international attention and the couple has won championships in Bachata Fusion (Bachata Open, Albacete Spain), Salsa Cabaret (Rising Star World Salsa Summit), Bachata Cabaret (Rising Star World Salsa Summit), Salsa Open (Midwest Salsa Open), Bachata Open (Ultimate Latin Dance Championship, Las Vegas) and were recently finalists at the World Salsa Open in Puerto Rico. They have been touring nationally and internationally for several years, and have become well known for their fusion style. Their performances have received multiple awards including “Best Show” in Fujairah Latin Dance Festival (UAE), “Director’s Choice Award” at the Toronto Bachata Festival (CA) and have been featured on the hit TV show America’s Got Talent. --- We heard there was interest in having MORE ZOUK in A2, so instead of commandeering Zouk Thursdays, we started our first foundation class series on Sundays with class followed by a practica and social. Sydney is a U-M dance grad student and shameless Zouk addict fresh off a trip to Toronto where she did teacher training with Laura Riva. She's excited to share Laura's expertise with all of you! Help spread the word and encourage your friends interested in Zouk to come to this class. (Oh yeah, and it's FREE!!!) If you feel you need a refresher you'll be able to take it again once the first cycle ends. If you feel like you're ready to move on with your training, we'll be providing intermediate classes and workshops, so stay tuned for information about that :). Think you're already an intermediate dancer? Even Sydney was transformed by learning foundations with Laura, so she highly encourages you to come out to classes. Sundays not enough for you?
