Schedule 6PM - 7:30PM - Body movement for Zouk by Ariah Alexander 7:30PM - 9PM - Int / Adv Partnerwork with Dan & Nia The first 1.5 hours will be a body movement class taught by Arieh Alexander, world class teacher from NYC. Arieh has been obsessed with finding the most effective ways to break down and teach body movement. The class will focus on body waves (alsa called spine rolls, body ondulations) as well as various grounding techniques to be more stable in your partner-work. He will rock your world with concepts borrowed from ballroom, salsa and many other dance disciplines. The second part will focus on Int/Adv level partnerwork. Several guiding partner dance principles and zouk dance techniques will be taught. The patterns will be Int/Adv level, directly learned from the queen of zouk Renata Pecanha, Rio de Janeiro. To learn how to properly execute these, we will constantly refer back to the learned principles and techniques. Nia started dancing 3 years ago under DJ Yen (Jean Goh) of Zouk Dance Academy in Singapore. She has been obsessively pursuing zouk, from Kuala Lumpur, Czech Republic, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Known for being highly animated while failing to appear sexy doing it; approach with caution. Dan has been dancing salsa for more than 6 years, competing in various events ranging form the Salsa Us Open to the World Latin Dance Cup. Over the past year he caught the zouk bug and has been traveling the world to take endless privates with the likes of Renata Pachaha from Rio, Leonardo Bilia and Catherine Pereira from NYC, Shani from LA and Anthony & Collyane from SF.
