Zouk Workshops with Deon

We are thrilled to announce not just one, but TWO Zouk workshops with Deon, our guest instructor from Michigan! In 2022, he became the first US instructor certified through the MAC Program by Alex De Carvalho, one of the most comprehensive Zouk training programs in the world. Meet our Guest Artist: Deon is an afro-latin teacher, performer, and choreographer, and event organizer from Michigan. After being introduced to the social dance world in 2018 learning from various artists and performing on a team, he’s committed himself to teaching, seeking out programs to help others get the most out of their dance. In 2022, he became the first US instructor certified through the MAC Program by Alex De Carvalho, one of the most comprehensive Zouk training programs in the world. He’s also received certifications for bachata through Isand Touch by Ataca y Alemana, and Sensual Bachata by Korke y Judith. In addition he has been featured as a resident teacher at Troy Dance Studio in Troy Michigan since 2023, teaching Zouk, bachata and salsa classes and hosting monthly socials. He continues to seek training opportunities from internationally renowned artist to further his skillset to help and inspire others. He aims to teach people to be complete dancers incorporating connection, body movement, improvisation, musicality, and expression. He aims to spread the joy of dance to many others around the world!
